
Rachael Green
Rachael (b. 2004) is an award winning saxophonist from York, England. Whilst at the RNCM, she has premiered a concerto commission, performed at the London Jazz Festival, and studied under Rob Buckland, Naomi Sullivan, and Valentine Michaud. Studying in the South of France under Claude Delange, Nicolas Arsenijevic and Mariano García has been her highlight from 2025.
Winning competitions such as the Harrogate International Festival and the East Coast Young Musician of the Year, Rachael has been an outstanding performer from a young age, and continues to enjoy the thriving music scene in Manchester. Previous highlights include playing the Mozart Clarinet Concerto in the Sagrada Familia Crypt, and attaining the St Peter’s Award for Excellence in Music.
Rachael is passionate about the unique challenge of balancing both Jazz and Classical genres, and has spent the past three years under the tuition of Ian Dixon. Rachael has toured with RnB singer Rumbi Tauro, and Rory A Green, whilst also playing with the York Symphony Orchestra, the York Guildhall Orchestra, and tutors in Woodwind at the Yorchestra Music Course and in the JRNCM Big Band. Whilst loving the challenge of performance and teaching, Rachael has also enjoyed working with hospitals around Manchester to provide music therapy for young children.
