We are Fractal. We are a fast emerging quartet in the heart of Manchester, and we have big plans in the world of music. What started as simply a group of friends, has quickly turned into an internationally acclaimed quartet, who are igniting the UK Classical Saxophone Scene with their shared passion for excellence. Although a relatively new quartet, we stand together collectively with years of hard work and dedication between us. We have big dreams and a spectacular work ethic- follow along for our journey.
2026, our first year together, was HUGE for us. As well as getting to the final of the Royal Overseas League, we won the RNCM Christopher Rowland Chamber Music prize, and became the first saxophone quartet to win in RNCM history. We have travelled to various destinations to collaborate with new composers, and are really excited to share what we are working on. A taste of this includes premiering Sophia Hurt's new work at the Wigmore Hall.
Although we love to work hard, we love to play hard too. We are most active on our instagram, where you can find countless memes (mostly of us) as well as tips for rehearsals together, and what we get up to outside of the practice room. We can share some great hiking routes too!
